On Friday evening, many parishioners came along to celebrate Father Johney’s Farewell Mass and buffet. Holy Mass was a joyful celebration offered by Father for all of us. Jim Hampton spoke well on behalf of the parish thanking Father for shepherding us over the past 7 years and for encouraging and supporting us to use our skills and talents to achieve so much in St Ninian’s.
Father, in response, thanked us all for our love and support, assured us of his continued love and prayers. It certainly was a ‘bitter sweet’ evening.
On behalf of the parish, Jim presented him with a new laptop and money. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed so generously towards the gift. We wish him every blessing, joy and happiness as he goes forward on the next stage of his priestly ministry.
